Curious (2013)
VIDEO PROJECTION ON WINDOW FILM
COMMISSIONED BY CARRIE NEELY ART FOR THE OPEN UNIVERSITY
Curious was a prolonged and evolving motion graphic that featured in the corner windows of Open University (OU) building. Curious attempted to make more explicit reference to the research process at the OU by acknowledging how technological evolution has shaped the research process. Drawing inspiration from the mapping techniques found across the research activities of the Digital Humanities at the OU, this work acted as a cartographical visual composition of the OU’s research framework, textually expressing the themes that guide all OU research projects: ‘openness’, ‘collaboration’, ‘answering old questions with new methods’ and ‘trying to answer a new question not yet asked’.
